Hi, I’m Bobby Mack.
Born and raised in Philadelphia and currently living in Manhattan, I started in the hair industry in 2007 after attending Jean Madeline Aveda Institute following in my grandmother's footsteps to become a hairstylist. After hair school, I went on to complete a three year apprentice in a renowned luxury salon on the Mainline. Excited to launch my career behind the chair, I joined a team at a boutique hair salon in Philadelphia for the next five years. Quickly building a strong clientele while constantly refining my skills, I truly wanted to create an inclusive and innovative studio of his own which would focus on customizing the entire hair experience for each client. And boom! In 2015, I launched Bobby Mack & Co Hair Studio focusing on bespoke hair services in which I would create a team to focus on creating ready to wear, natural, and lived-in hair color and styles. Over the next three years, I grew my team from 1 to 25 employees, and business from $125,000 to $1,500,000 in revenue. Since opening, my studio has remained one of Philadelphia’s top premier hair destinations.
As an avid student of hair, I have attended L’Oreal’s Soho Academy for balayage, NineZeroOne’s Lived in Color bootcamps, and Dominick Serna’s Advanced Cutting Workshop to name a few. In my years of attending hair classes and owning the hair studio, I realized that my passion is not only in providing clients with hair services, but with curating and training a team. This led me to expand the Bobby Mack brand into education. Since 2017, with the amazing support of both the studio team and class attendees, I have hosted a multitude of hair classes, customized team education events and has been contracted to consult both individual stylists and business owners to boost their confidence and knowledge in order to maximize their full potential.
Reflecting on the last seventeen years of industry experience, I decided to expand on this passion for educating and to create a company for customized education and coaching that shares my core values of empathy, enthusiasm and motivation in order to provide a haven for business and technical education for my peers in the industry.
Whether you have been in the industry for years, or if you're just starting out, continuing to educate yourself, building your brand and harnessing your full potential takes time and commitment. I am here fore you! Trust me when I say I have made plenty of mistakes along this journey to success. And let me be clear that I am do not pretend to have created a “one solution fits all” or a “secret to success.” Because we are all the secret. Our work ethic, values and passion are what creates our dreams. Let’s work together to curate your awesomeness by building on your current skills, integrating new techniques and boosting your confidence.
We are stronger together. No smoke and mirrors. No fancy shows. Just real experience and systems to create solutions.
